Brief History Of Hastings Park Bible Church

As we look at the history of Hastings Park we want to be careful to give God the glory ? great things he has done

2 Cor 3:4 "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God?

God works through people ? In 1968  God began to place a desire in the hearts of a few families to start a work on the west side of Belleville to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding city.  At the time there was no evangelical work on the west side of Belleville

On January 19, 1969 the first service was held at Centennial Secondary School the guest speaker was W.E. Belch.

In the fall of 1969 the three acre property we are currently on was purchased
Ground breaking for the first building was held on August 5, 1973
January 20 1974  a service of dedication was held

In 1977 plans were drawn up for a new facility and on January 22 1978 a service of dedication was held for the current sanctuary structure

In January 1984 the congregation became known as Hastings Park Bible Church and a permanent church constitution was drawn up and approved.

From in Early beginnings 1969  until now HPBC has been served by six senior pastors and three youth pastors
